Tonight Lorraine and I had the privilege of speaking with a troop of Brownies in Davis about how we can make changes in our lives that alter the bigger story around us. One of the greatest stories that we can tell is how our food is grown. Generally speaking, conventionally grown produce (and even most organic produce) is grown with the assistance of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. At Eatwell Farm we have no need for those three things because we've changed the story with chickens! The girls learned how chickens eat the bug larvae, control the weeds and fertilize the soil.
