Last weekend Roberto sowed twenty acres of pasture for our chickens to roam on next year. This represents one third of our row crop ground. Our plan is to grow two years of vegetable then one year of pasture and chickens. The fertility and the rest will result in better vegetables that we can grow more easily. The fertility from the chickens will save money on compost purchases and the rest will break the reproduction cycles of some of our most troublesome weeds such as bindweed.

We will also have more eggs and fresh chicken to keep our farm Members happy. And that is what it is all about.
