Oranges are one of the crops that it is very easy to taste the difference organic farming makes. My first organic orange picked straight from the tree was tasted on a Moshavim (Kfar Yehoshua) which is located between Carmel and Nazareth in Israel. I was like nothing I had tasted before. In England ranges come from Spain and at the time none were organic in our house.
We have oranges, lemons, tangerines, grapefruits, pomelos and limes planted on two acres. Unfortunately the limes have been frosted again for the second year so I will replace them with another citrus. I had dreams of a Tequila party under the lime trees one day.
The aroma near the trees from the blossom is wonderful.
