Strawberry Fields

P4030006
The first of this year berries are ripening. It is a little late compared to an average year, about 10 days. The plants are not as big as normal as most of them were planted in November compared to our usual August planting. Unfortunately the amount of work we have to do in August plus the intense heat makes November planting much more realistic. We will be having four open days for members of the farm to pick berries in May. These are always very fun events.
There are twenty four beds planted this year, four more than last year. We know how much people love the strawberries and plant accordingly.
