Many of you requested than we grow more garlic for our boxes. This year I tripled our seed order to 1,500 lbs. That was enough to plant 1.3 acres. We will be picking green garlic in a couple of weeks.
The crop is clean of weeds after many passes with our finger weeder and one trip through the field by the crew with hoes.
In the next week we will have to start irrigating unless it rains more than half an inch. The garlic bulbs will be ready to harvest in June. We are planning a 'Stinking Harvest Party' for our members. Watch your newsletter for more details.
