Jose sent me pictures of the crew moving our mobile chicken houses this morning. Keeping them on the go not only speads their manure but provides them with great food in the form of the flora and fauna of the pasture we sow for them. The reason, I believe, the eggs taste so good, is this incredible pasture. A chicken, even one fed organic food, living in a 25,000 bird confined feeding operation, does not enjoy the variety of food or fresh air for that matter.
It takes time to keep them on the move, they eat more expensive organic feed living outside. The pleasure and nutrition from a good egg has to be enjoyed to be believed.
