Original Eatwell Farm basket

Our family were founding subscribers to the Eatwell Farm CSA 20 years ago, and the relationship continues to this day. The Farm & Garden teacher at Cara's school helped Nigel get this new project going. Farm baskets delivered to the school nourished us and made shopping for the remainder dairy and bread products so much easier. I learned to love good basic greens—before they became hip and made into chips—and experimented with recipes from the Eatwell community that extended beyond my own cookbook collection. Seared in my memory is an early gathering at the old farm....the warmth of the Yolo County afternoon fading to evening cool, baby chicks to entertain the children, fresh salad, and Eatwellers warmed by a bonfire after dusk. I love living in the City and Eatwell is my connection to the productive earth and the people who work it. I also invested in the original egg project and for more years than I can count received each week 1/2 dozen Eatwell eggs as interest. By far the best return on investment ever, especially in these days of virtual currencies and inflated paper values...this was true and real value.
