Today we started irrigating young salad seedlings. It is just about the same time as last year when our irrigation canal was turned back on. 

I was explaining to a fellow farmer what a Mediterranean climate was in about ten seconds yesterday.  

It rains only in the fall or only in the middle of the winter or only in the spring. Or it rains from October to April or no rain at all. I have experienced all of these and they are all normal.

We are working to join a new six inch arm to the main line to allow us to run four sprinkler lines where we now can only run one.  All of this takes time and money, which you will not see as it is buried below ground. We hope to have the new arm full functional by the middle of next week.
