This is one of the ingredients in the new pasture/cover crop mixes. It grows to six feet tall in a matter of six weeks. Last Sunday our neighbor’s field was being cut so I arranged for our one and a half acre plot to be cut also. We will use this pure stand to make hay and feed it to our grass fed Guernsey milk cows this winter. Our neighbor’s 40 acres field is valuable this year with many farmers not having enough water to grow such crops.
