On Monday I spent a day on a ranch in Castro Valley with one of my farming heroes, Darren Doherty. This Australian farmer travels the world helping us understand how to drought proof and manage our farms so that we can go beyond sustainable and regenerate our soils. Soil building is what Darren is all about. Darren, in the blue shirt, is seen here with a drone which he uses to get arial photos of farms. I held it as he launched it above us. He combines this with software so the contours of farms to accurately mapped and design water harvesting systems and absorption. (regrarians.org)
