IMG_7410.JPG We planted 7.5 acres of this wonderful crop on neighbors land. It rained after we planted in November but nothing of any significance since. The crop has not germinated so last week it was furrow irrigated. A deep watering is best for this crop as we want the roots to follow the water down and the farmer has no other choice for this field. I was becoming concerned because we have all our seed planted. If we had lost this crop to the drought I would have had to buy in fresh seed. This would be very expensive and in some cases the seed is not easily available for some of the varieties we grow.
