Making more flour!

IMG_0047.JPG Our heirloom wheat crop was planted almost two weeks ago. We planted the crop on 7.5 acres of ground run by our friend Matt Cooley. This is not certified organic ground but it is all we could get. We hope to have 10+ tons for harvest in June and to start milling in July next year.

Land is at a real premium around here with so many farmers planting walnuts and the high price offered for processing tomato contracts. It is difficult for us to rent more land here for wheat.
