Good Training Pays Off
The greatest joy for me on the farm is to see the crew take what I have taught them and run with it. The onion crop this year is a case in point. Little Jose had such a hard time irrigating and keeping it alive with the hot spring winds. He stuck with it and saved the crop from withering. Ramon and Miguel spent many hours hoeing the crop with the finger weeder. Jose sent Marta and Maria in to clean up the remaining weeds. The fertility was provided by the chickens that Augustin constantly moved over these beds last year while producing our amazing eggs. They each have their roles but they understand the whole. Perfect!
