IMG_2373.JPG Last Wednesday a large truck delivered many plants grown for us organically by Headstart Nursery in Gilroy. They included many herbs for our new herb garden, peppers, eggplant, onions and summer cabbage. The rain last week stopped play in the fields. We are hoping to plant all except the herbs at the end of this week. The one thing concerning Jose and I is the wind. We like it calm when we plant, the wind can dry out the young plants before we get chance to turn on the sprinklers. The chickens are still fertilizing the area where we will plant the herbs. We hope they will be moved on and be able to plant that area in three weeks. Lorraine and I have had lots of fun choosing the herbs to plant in this new garden. We hope to use the woven plastic mulch to keep the weeds at bay. The first herbs from this new garden will be available in late June.
