It is exciting to plant this years crop. We always aim to plant on March 15th but rarely make that date. The condition's are perfect, warm days and nights. The soil is covered with our plastic woven mat to keep down the weeds. Last night we irrigated these beds for 4 hours, the plastic allows us to then plant these now. The fabric spreads our weight over the soil.
We mix the seed of many of our heirloom varieties then send them to the nursery to be grown out. It matters not that the plants are mixed in the field for harvesting. We are hoping to start picking this crop in mid to late June.
