This English lady has been on a crusade to save and encourage the use of heirloom wheat for many years. She has taken seed from seed banks and grown them out to distribute to farmers and gardeners. I finally got to meet her in a warehouse in Santa Rosa last week when I purchased 500 pounds of Sonora wheat from her. She is focused now on this variety and another from Ethiopia called “Ethiopian Emmer.” I have ordered seed from that variety for planting in November 2013.
