IMG_3805.JPG Every year we see improvements in our soil, but his year we have grown some impressive crops in the summer heat. Remember the spinach and the lettuce in early August? It has been a hot summer and by rights these crops should have failed. The lettuce and collards in your box today are another example of crops that we are surprised at how well they have done. We believe that the year of pasture and chickens has had a profound effect on the soil life. Our crops are thriving in soils that are coming alive. I have been farming organically for almost 30 years, and I had not seen this before. We are now starting our second round of the rotation with the pasture and chickens, and we are excited to see the results.
