We buy most of our seed from Tom at Snow Seed in Salinas. As organic farmers, we must buy organic seed when available, although we are allowed to buy untreated non-organic seed. It was not too long ago that just 20% of the seed was organic. I am happy to report that after unpacking the last order with Roberto on Friday, 80% of the seed was organic. We are now keeping track of where that seed comes from, and we will investigate who owns all the seed companies that produce the seed we use. The goal is to make sure they are not covers for Monsanto or similar corporations.
