Health Update

It was great to see so many of you at our Strawberry Days in May. Over 1,000 people came to the farm! As many of you saw, I am up and about, but three or four hours is my limit. My instructions from the doctor are to keep active until it hurts, then stop! I have finished the first four rounds of chemotherapy, and the results are described by the doctors as remarkable. I am in ‘very almost full remission,’ a technical term from the doctor, I believe. The problem is that I have lost a vertebrae in my spine. I am having some special physical therapy in Folsom. My job now is to not fall and to get stronger. My days of loading trucks at 4 a.m. might be over, but there are still many jobs I can do on the farm to make myself useful. I am feeling stronger by the day, even if it does not go as fast as I would like. I am really looking forward to seeing many more of you this summer at events on the farm. I hope to be going back to the market in July when we do not have events. As always I could not have done it without all your support, thoughts and prayers…Nigel
