It has to be eight or nine years ago I spent $1,000 on lilac plants. It caused a little stir here spending so much only on this flower. But I said it was for me because I enjoy them. Well the plants are getting bigger, and we are harvesting more bunches each year. They sell for $15 each and are gone within the first 45 minutes of the market. We sold 20 bunches last week and hope for more next week. I choose varieties from a California nursery that flowered here and were fragrant. There are not the same color choices as in my homeland but still they bring joy not only to me.
