Grapes

It was great to get out into the field last week and work with Jose, Ramon and Roberto pruning grape vines. This was my first work in the field since the cancer diagnosis. I was there at the request of Jose to make sure they were pruning the vines correctly. Of course they already knew what they were doing. When pruning vines, we have to prune heavily, and they just wanted to see me do it. After an hour Jose drove me back to the house. My hands and feet have become quite soft with all this confinement. I now have several blisters on my feet from walking around in work shoes. I compared my hands to those of Dan at Flatland Flower Farm and was horrified to see how soft mine had become. All in good time. My current job is to get better, I know that, but it does not mean that I am not anxious to get back to work.
