Jose has an amazing Toyota pickup that he seems to be able to get into the field in any weather to carry back loads of vegetables. We also have large four wheel drive tractors, but they are heavy and can make a real mess in the field. So, the trusty pickup (kept running by Kiki) seems the best solution for the moment. We do have plans to get a pair of working Morgan horses to pull harvest carts, which the crew is excited about. We will be able to use the horses around the farm for light duty pulling. They will not replace our tractors, which are still a wonderful, fun, and appropriate use of technology on the farm. However, we need to find the right pair of horses, build shelter, and get all the equipment needed together, so this is not going to happen quickly.
