We make three plantings of tomatoes to ensure we have a harvest season from the end of June to the end of October. Well they are just plans. The spring storms delayed planting and this was followed by the cool May and June which ensured that we did not start picking tomatoes until the end of July. So now we have all the tomatoes we intended to pick all come at the same time. This is a great time to put some tomatoes away for the winter. You could simply chop and freeze them for spaghetti sauce or cook and can them. You can do all this in the comfort of your own kitchen. We have 20 lb boxes of Romas or Shady Lady tomatoes. Just send an email to the gals in the office, and they can take care of the rest. You simply pick them up with your box. There is a small charge to cover the cost of picking and the box ($20). These boxes are also available to pick up at the Ferry Plaza Market on Saturdays.
