Even though it's not quite feeling like summer yet at the farm with cooler temps and spots of rain, you'll get a taste of it in your box this week! The crew will pinch off the top leaves of the basil to encourage more growth. We planted our basil with a weed fabric and covered it with shade cloth and, needless to say, we are happy with the results so far. We also planted our strawberries last fall with the fabric and have had a very good fruit set this year. Those of you who attended one of our Strawberry Days this month can attest to that. This was the first time in the last few years where we had so many berries still left after an all-day picking.
