When we were looking to buy a piece of land we were very picky. We wanted deep fertile soil, and two sources of water. We were patient and lucky to get what we wanted. We have a well and the irrigation canal running along the front of the farm.
Lake Berryessa water is clean and plentiful. We are currently drawing 450 gallons a minute from the canal.
