Nine hundred Black Star chicks hatched this morning and are on their way to us ( Priority Mail!). Manuel and Fernando spent the day putting the roof on their new house. We have been delayed in the construction due to rain. Using electric saws and drills in the rain is not advised. Today the weather cleared and hopefully Thursday will also be rain free. Ramon will help them tomorrow. Agustin will prepare the inside with the shavings and heater lamps.
Those of you coming to the garden day this coming Saturday will see the very young chicks. We may have to cancel the day due to rain, Lorraine will contact those of you signed up for the event on Friday.
