P1140019.JPG So we plant pasture, let the chickens roam over it and fertilize it. The following garlic crop loves the fertility but in the rush of the summer we let the grass mature just a little too long and they set some seeds. Roberto has done a good job of cultivating the crop but a few grasses have eluded him in the rows of the garlic. The soil is still moist so since Thursday we have been removing the offending grasses by hand with the help of a knife, roots and all.

Roberto has already mowed this years pasture and will keep it short all summer.
