Last Friday Ramon and three of the crew planted 30,000 plugs or cells of onions. Each plug had up to four onion plants in it. They were planted about 6" apart, enough space to get a hoe through to clean out the weeds.  These plants will grow slowly through the winter. We will start harvesting them in March as green onions and they will form bulbs and dry in June.

The varieties we use are Stockton Early yellow and Early Red Burger.
