Rose Geranium is a popular Drinkwell Softer flavor so we had to prepare more to last Lorraine through to next June. On Friday morning last week Jose and the crew picked three bins. I then drove it to Sonoma where our good friend Wally distills it for us. Each bin yields about 25 gallons of hydrosol and a couple of ounces of essential oil.
Please note the tag on the bin, there has to be a paper trail to maintain the organic integrity of the product. Our Rose Geranium Hydrosol is sold to a company which sells its product in Europe where they have stricter controls on organic cosmetic products. Extra paperwork is required for those distillations.
The other strong selling softer flavor is lemon Verbena, we hope to distill more of that next week.
