We planted another 1,000 pounds of garlic last Friday.  Three of us sit on our planting sled as the tractor pulls it along very slowly. A furrow is pulled into which we drop garlic seed one by one. This is crude but very effective if you consider how many different crops we have to plant. There are very expensive garlic planting machines, and others for potatoes, broccoli, peas, sweet potatoes etc. We do not grow enough acreage of each crop to justify the expenditure of specialty equipment. So we manage with a simple sled that can easily be adapted to our crops.
