We started our fennel plants early in the greenhouse this year to avoid the heat of June when we normally plan the seed directly into the beds. We also had more plants grown organically for us by headstart Nursery in Gilroy which we planted last week. fennel ios a beautiful addition to our boxes and we hope to start harvest by the beginning of August. Apart from the fact that the bulb is a great vegetable the seed is an important ingredient is absinthe.
