This morning Chris from Cat Rental in Vacaville brought us a few toys to help cover the house with 2,000 yards of soil. The soil will be our thermal barrier, keeping us warm in winter and cool in summer. Our thinking is that the soil will keep on saving over the 900 year expected life of the house. The soil will be dug out from a pond in front of the house. This pond will later be used as part of our irrigation system.

This weekend our friend Greg and Toby will be driving these toys while we make sure everything is in place to keep them working. Watch this space for more details over the weekend. We hope to post more photos and videos.
