Surviving Blossom Time Rains

P3200013

These are very small apricots that were pollinated nicely in spite of the rains during their bloom. I can only put their survival down to the organically approved copper fungicide I used to protect them. I do not like to use copper but last fall soil analysis showed that copper levels in the orchard were mid range so I took that as a green light to apply it.

Other apricots did well and some have no fruit. Thankfully they all seem to bloom at different times so this does give us some insurance that we will have a crop to harvest for our Eatwell Boxes.

The bloom in the peaches is spectacular on some varieties. These below have a good show.
