Our chicks are growing fast and need plenty of clean water. We use these 'nipple' drinkers to ensure that they have fresh, unsoiled water to drink. They will live in their brooder house with the heat lamps for another month. They will then be allowed limited access outside. This is to prevent them falling prey to one of the three families of hawks on the farm. From two to four months old they are just the right size for a snack. Once they reach full size they are more of a problem for the hawks and develop a good sense of when danger is around.
