These heads of Frise are an excellent source of folic acid, vitamins A C and K. It is low in calories to boot. You have seen it in a smaller form in salad mixes where it is a common ingredient. It is classed as a bitter green and makes a great spring salad. Tear the leaves, do not cut and dress just before serving.
We sowed the seed directly into these beds in October and they have loved the wet winter. Next week we have Escarole for your box.
