This is a term used where I come from for some serious rain just like we are having now. We will pick produce today and deliver boxes on Wednesday. These are just a very few of the ugly days of the year that we have to work.
The forecast is for the rain to continue until Friday. More rain is on its way for next week. If you are a farmer in the Central Valley and had no income last year because you had no water allocation you would be celebrating. We also welcome the rain but have the buffer that our irrigation water comes from Lake Berryessa. The capacity of the lake compared with the demand on it means there is three years supply in stock with a full reservoir.
We all still have to keep focused on saving water, it grows our food and is precious.
