The only time we close the doors on a chicken house is when we move it to a new field. They were moved to the old strawberry beds last Saturday morning. They love the strawberries, the scratch around in the straw, eat bugs and the remains of the plants. They will be here until early in the new year when their brand new 20 acre pasture for 2010 will be ready.

The pasture, seen below, is almost ready. I do not want to put them on too early and damage the growing sward. The beds to the left of the pasture are prepared ready for planting in early January.
