September is a critical month for planting here at Eatwell Farm. We will plant about half our winter crops during this month and the timing is critical. We need to make sure we have enough produce for our Eatwell Boxes in a nice succession through the winter. Not an easy task but we give it our best try. Roberto and Ramon spent most of last week spreading compost on beds and tilling it in. We will irrigate these beds to enable us to come back and make a finely tilled bed with the moisture. We hope to germinate most of the wheat left after harvesting this years crop on these beds also. Wheat plants are weeds when they are in beds of arugula.
