Fall Summer Crops
In Mid to Late July we sow the final plantings of summer squash, melons and cucumbers. These will produce from early September into October. The summer squash in the picture above is the second to last planting. Ricardo and Jaime are hoeing the few weeds that are there before they put the irrigation drip lines back into the crop.
It is our experience that if we wait until the beginning of August then the final plantings do not get big enough before the cool September night set in and do not produce a good crop.
