This is Clara Miller and she spent a very happy morning last Saturday collecting bunches of lavender from our field. A few members of the farm joined us for the start of harvesting the bunches which we dry for winter selling. The variety is Grosso. This dries well and keeps hold of its flowers when dry. We start harvesting when 10% are open and try to get it all picked and hung in our drying room before 30% open.
