Daisy, our beloved chicken guard dog, keeps an eye on us making repairs to an underground irrigation line last Thursday. One of our neighbors crew hit a riser with a trailer and unfortunately it broke the underground pipe it was attached to also.
Water flowed freely out of the 6" pipe and made quite a mess. We had to stop the pump, dig out the pipe and pump all the water out of the underground line. To make the repair we got a special telescopic coupling which is glued to one piece of pipe the extends out to meet the other side and make the join. This is not a cheap toy with a pipe six inches in diameter. With special fast setting glue we were back irrigating our crops the next morning.
Now we have all our risers protected and marked by metal T posts.
