The rainfall in February was needed and very welcome here on the farm. Many crops looked dry and cold at the end of January, not a pretty sight. We did get a chance between storms to weed these beds with our brush hoe so the weed situation is limited to a few volunteers from last years wheat crop. these lettuce varieties are specially bred for withstanding our winter climate. The beds to the left are an experimental winter wheat crop that was sown just like the lettuce and hoes with the same equipment. The crop is looking very good and I am pretty sure this is how we will plant all out grains from now on.
