The buds on the earliest blooming plum trees are about to burst. It is only the first week of February so I am quite happy for them to wait a little longer. The danger to the flowers is that a hard frost can kill them and we get no fruit this season from these trees. Most of the trees on the farm are still asleep which is the best place for them at this time.
