Jose is setting the seed vacuum above the tray. Once it is in the right position he will release the vacuum and then the seeds will fall into each cell in the tray. We do this many, many times over to fill the greenhouse will plants. This is the time of the year that we always fill it to capacity and a little more. We are looking at getting another, much bigger house to cope with the demand for space. Our pepper and eggplant seedlings will be grown for us by Headstart Nursery in Watsonville as we do not have enough space for them.
I prepare all the seeds and place a label in each bag with the variety, size of tray and the number we need to sow. Jose and the crew take it from there.
