There is a problem with the irrigation canal that runs along the south end of the farm. Over the 3 mile section that we are part of it leaks. No this is not a dripping faucet kind of leak, a little bigger, more like 2,700 gallons per minute. The only solution that has not been tried so far to fix it is to line the canal with concrete. That is going on now and will cost around a million dollars. Two crews of ten guys were working spraying 2.5 inches of shotcrete over a woven plastic material. The Shotcrete will seal the leaks in the canal and allow the water to travel faster.
