At about two weeks after we plant young onion transplants in the field,
lots of seedling weeds emerge around them. Roberto is nervous about
using our finger weeder as it can move too much soil and cover the
young plants. If we do not cultivate at this time then it is harder to
remove them later. Fortunately when the soil is a little moist on a
foggy morning it does not pile up on the plants so much and does a
great job of removing the weeds.
