The recent rain delayed the moving of the Chickens. We finally got them to their new home on Saturday morning. They will be here on the summers tomato crop for a couple of weeks. They are very happy busy devouring every last tomato they can find.
Once they are done we hope it will be dry enough to plant alfalfa pasture so they can come back again next summer. This area is destined for winter salads next fall and sweet potatoes in the summer of 2010.
The shade clothes are not needed at this time of the year. We let them hang over the windows as protection from the driving rain of winter storms.
