The first of the chicken houses is being fitted with a new and more durable misting system. The plans is to have new shade cloth made to attach under the roof and flow to the ground about 20 feet away from the house. It will be staked in place with tent pegs. the cloth can then be rolled up easily and tied to the house when we move it with the tractor.
This new shade will provide a bigger area for the birds to roam and feed during the hottest days. The misters have worked well for us in reducing the ambient temperatures. On the very hottest days  always we also  have the sprinklers working on the pasture next to where the girls are. Keeping them cool and as stress free as possible makes for much happier chickens.
