There are magical moments on any farm. We had another one last Saturday morning: twenty- five-plus members came out to the farm at 8 a.m. to help us plant table grapes. Jose could not spare anyone from the farm crew to help us, so we got straight to work. After I gave a brief explanation, everyone got to work. I was delighted by the enthusiastic, careful and hard work exhibited by everyone present.
Teams were formed to plant, to prune the vines ready to plant, to prepare and put on the protective sleeves (to keep the rabbits away), and to plant the vines.
I had to stop people working at 10 a.m. to have a peach and plum tasting break.
