Farming is just not lucrative enough for us to 'call someone' to lay concrete for us. We have to do it ourselves. We bought this concrete mixer a few months ago to help us build the pads for the grain bins. It does make a difference, before labor the cost of the concrete is 50% compared to having it delivered in a truck.
This concrete pad is for our irrigation pump. The pump is being fixed so we took the opportunity to lay the concrete. Fernando is putting the pump back together as I write this and we hopefully will have it all working again by Tuesday am. In the meantime we have been using a pump attached to one of the tractors. It is a n old pump but serves our emergency needs in such a time.
